All Okuma CNC machines deliver high throughput, high accuracy, and reliability to production and job shop CNC machining operations.
OSP-P Series CNC Controls and Software
Okuma was the first CNC machine tool manufacturer to offer a truly open-architecture CNC control. The OSP-P Series CNC control and software products ensure that Okuma CNC machines and programs perform at optimum speed, reliability and accuracy.
Markets
Okuma provides advanced metal-cutting technology to a wide variety of industries. Okuma products are well suited for markets having demanding CNC machining specifications.
Distribution Model
Okuma sells to manufacturers exclusively through distributors. This focus has been in place for several decades, resulting in the creation of the largest independently-owned distribution network in the Americas.
Service
Okuma is the only CNC machine tool manufacturer that offers comprehensive Okuma CARE (Constantly Available Resource Experts) service offerings. Okuma is the one source for all customized service requirements, offering a true lifeline of support to customers.
Partners in THINC
Partners in THINC is a collaboration network of more than 50 CNC machining industry leaders who come together to solve problems and explore new productivity ideas for real-world manufacturers. With the open architecture, PC-based OSP-P Series CNC control as its nucleus, Partners in THINC brings specialized equipment, expertise and a commitment to provide the best possible integrated solutions to the end-user.
History
Okuma Corporation was established in 1898 by Eiichi Okuma in Nagoya, Japan. Okuma’s first products were noodle machines, evolving to cigarette rolling machines and eventually CNC machine tools in the early 1900’s. Okuma America began U.S. operations in 1984 in Long Island, New York and moved to its present facility in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1987. The Charlotte location is the Okuma sales and service headquarters for the Americas. Throughout its history, Okuma has been known for engineering product innovations for CNC machining that create new breakthroughs in efficiency and reliability.
