IMTS returns to McCormick Place, our nation’s largest convention center, a beautiful, modern venue with stunning views of Lake Michigan from the East Building and upper levels of the South Building. Located in downtown Chicago with ample parking, the center is easily accessed by public transportation and highways. From world-class dining and breweries to attractions and shopping, there is something for everyone in the Windy City. Below is information to help you find the right hotel and get familiar with your transportation options.
Hotels – get the lowest rates
Book a hotel room within our discounted hotel block. IMTS, in cooperation with Connections Housing – the only IMTS housing provider, specially contracts the lowest room rates during the event, guarantees your room and offers free shuttle service to and from McCormick Place for all hotels within the IMTS Hotel Block with the exception of those at McCormick Place.

Travel - You don’t have to rent a car
Two international airports, O’Hare and Midway have approximately 1,450 daily direct flights to more than 245 destinations. O’Hare is just 17 miles from downtown Chicago and Midway is a mere 10 miles.
Ground Transportation to/from Airports
Go Airport Express is the premier airport shuttle provider for Chicago's O'Hare and Midway airports and McCormick Place. They offer efficient and economical shared ride services, express luxury sedans and limo services, as well as a complete line of charter vehicle services. Shuttles depart from O'Hare and Midway airports every 10-15 minutes for downtown Chicago and suburban Chicago area hotels.
Free IMTS 2018 Shuttles
All hotels within the IMTS Hotel Block are served with complimentary shuttles to and from McCormick Place with the exception of those at McCormick Place.
McCormick Place is now connected to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) via both city bus and elevated train or “L” for elevated. The CTA Green Line stops at Cermak-McCormick Place. Located at the intersection of Cermak Road and State Street, just two blocks (0.15 mile) from the northwest corner of the McCormick Place West Building.
METRA Electric Commuter Railroad
Located on Level 2.5 of the McCormick Place Grand Concourse in the South Building, the METRA Electric commuter railroad connects downtown to outlying suburbs.
Uber, Lyft, CHICABS & Arro
Be sure to download these ridesharing apps for affordable alternatives to taking a cab with multiple pickup locations around McCormick Place. For CHICABS, download “Curb” from your favorite App Store.

Parking and Directions
