AMT’s New Headquarters Marks New Era for Manufacturing Technology
Just as technology is transforming the manufacturing industry, it is also transforming the architecture and the buildings where people work. Just last month, AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, the owner and operator of IMTS, made progress toward its new headquarters building project in Tysons, Virginia, with the demolition of its 1960s three-story building at 7901 Westpark Drive, McLean, Virginia.
Two years ago, AMT staff moved into a neighboring office building, a block away at 7901 Jones Branch Drive, to allow AMT to prepare for demolition of the old headquarters and construction of the new building. AMT staff welcomed the move, as the Jones Branch building features an open floor plan, flexible workspace, and optional sit/stand desks.
A 10-story, 200,000-square-foot, all-glass office tower is planned for the existing site (7901 Westpark Drive), which will be visible along the Capital Beltway (I-495) and provide modern amenities and optimal operational efficiency. AMT plans to move into the new building upon completion.
